I've been coming here for over a decade. #4 oxfoot soup is my go-to. It's so rich and full of collagen. If you ever find this location closed, they'll be on the 3rd floor of Koreatown Plaza (where they have H Mart on 9th and Western). They're doiing construction there now.

Authentic food and warm hospitality! We found this restaurant by accident when we were sightseeing seeing in Korea town. Overall, we were very pleased with our lunch experience. Located in a strip mall with multiple Korean restaurant, this is a mom and pop small restaurant. Parking is a challenge, but valet parking us only available for $4 for 2 hours. When we went in, most patrons were Koreans and there were a lot of takeout orders. The owner is a very kind Korean lady and she fitted us right away. The menu is very simple with about 20 dishes, and most appeared to be comfort food. I had the seaweed soup and a side of rice, and my friend has the abalone porridge with egg. Our meals came with standard Korean side dishes like kitchen and marinated beef. My seaweed soup was delicious and the offerings were very generous. My friend loved his abalone soup as well. Most dishes were between $15-$20 and the prices were very reasonable. The ambiance of the restaurant felt relaxed and down to earth. This will be a great place to enjoy warm soups with close friends on a cozy day. Highly recommend!

Honestly, what a gem in Ktown. Ive had quite a few different meals from Mountain, but I always have to come back to the Abolone Porridge. It tastes like a childhood home you yearn to go back to. The egg and the delicate meat bits that accompany the dish are everything. Love the radishes and the rest of the Banchan. It's a perfect meal for a rainy and cold night or just a hard day at the office where you need to decompress. Lastly the meat comes with a little green chili that adds the perfect amount of spice to the dish. So thankful for all the meals I've had here.

One of the few OG Ktown restaurant left. They're known for their abalone porridge (jook). It's comfort food at it's best. Their staple banchans are also old school and tasty. One of my personal favorites is Ddaroh-gookbap. It's a spicy beef soup with soybean sprouts, green onions, and some vermicelli inside. It's got some heat, so best to eat with rice. The only bad thing is that the parking at that plaza is atrocious. If you dine in, make sure to to the waitress ajumma well. She's a kind lady. Bon apetit!

1. The porridge was a huge, and it was comforting! That boiled beef as a side dish is amazing! 2. The spot has cozy casual vibes! 3. There are only indoor seatings! 4. The staff was friendly and attentive! The food and side dishes came out together in about 15 mins! 5. Parking lot is small, and valet service may be available later in the day! Note: The refill on the boiled beef side dish does cost extra! Photo: Side Dishes, Boiled Beef, Abalone Porridge

I came here after an international flight and this meal was definitely very fulfilling and heart warming. After a long flight, I was exhausted and hungry at the same time and wanted something hot to feel my stomach. I ordered their abalone porridge and it exceeds my expectations. It looks blend, but it was packed with flavor. I am not sure what else they put in it beside the abalone and the raw egg on top, but it was very good. The service was ok, do not expect much, but it was very quick. Once we ordered, they were able to serve the food within 15 minutes. It is a very casual place, but I am definitely coming back for more heart warming meals.

My friends recommended this spot in K-town, and it was just a 10-minute Lyft ride from my downtown hotel. The layout was simple--maybe 'traditional' is the right word. I ordered the ginseng chicken soup and beef tendon soup, which were perfect for the chilly evening. Both soups arrived within minutes and were full of flavor. The tendons were soft yet chewy, and the chicken fell right off the bone--just like homemade. The portions were generous, and the server, though the only one working, was very attentive, even refilling the kimchi regularly. There was also a sweet beef banchan, which was a nice touch. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area. One note: there was a security guard outside, and it seemed to be valet parking only at the strip mall.

In the heart of LA's Koreatown, this small Cafe packs a lot of flavor! I ordered #2, the whole chicken ginseng soup and my partner ordered #4, the bone marrow soup. Both dishes came with a side of rice and 4 banchan (or Korean side dishes) consisting of kimchi, braised beef, pickled radish, and another preserved veggie. The braised beef was my favorite banchan. The chicken ginseng soup had a lot of great flavor, especially after the ginseng and sweet sticky rice had been soaking in the broth. A very friendly, older Korean woman took our order and served us. If you run out of any of the side dishes, just ask her and she'll bring out more. Located next to Paris Baguette in a small strip center with many other Korean restaurants. I arrived via rideshare, but parking looked like it was vallet only in their small lot. Open 24 hours a day. I would definitely return here!

This has been my go-to place for Korean comfort foods for almost a decade! I bring my closest friends and family here to enjoy the fresh abalone congee and various Korean soups. They hit especially hard on colder nights. The restaurant, which has held its ground since 1974, is rather unassuming, simple, with all focus put into the food. Some of the other restaurants might seem more popular and crowded, but this is the true gem of Koreatown. Aunty Kim is such a sweetheart! She puts her heart and soul into every aspect of your experience. She treats everyone just like family and creates a friendly ambiance for everyone to enjoy. The menu might seem like it has only a few options, but trust me when I say, these are POWERHOUSE dishes that are absolute perfection. The parking situation can be rather intense, so it's best to use the Vallet service or pray for street parking.
